Teaching
At the core of my approach to teaching is to sharpen students’ sociological imagination by getting them to ask critical questions about our society and how we come to know it, which often means challenging their taken-for-granted assumptions or “common sense” understandings of the world. I include feminist, queer, intersectional, anti-racist, and Indigenous perspectives when examining a variety of social issues. The goal is to foster critical thinking in students’ everyday lives by including diverse perspectives and content.
